Installation of Traffic Screensaver and the collections

Some Traffic users told me about attemps of the program to access Internet spontaneously, suspecting the program to be a spyware.
The program Traffic itself is safe. The attempt is done by the Microsoft DirectX library used when running the full screen mode. If you do not trust Microsoft, you can use the GDI drawing mode (in the full screen tab of the configuration window) : no attempt will then be done, but you will face a dramatic quality loss.

The version of Traffic Screensaver provided here is V4.3.8. It is available on this homepage since the 7/11/2004.
If you have a 4.0 / 4.1 version of the program, an update is strongly recommended, essentially if you run Windows XP.
If you have a V3 or older Traffic Screensaver release, you have to upgrade to V4 to be able to run the MLGTraffic collections.

Automatic setup program !
This page shows how to install traffic Screensaver and the MLGTraffic collections.
There are two different installation procedures.
a two-step one (for advanced users).
They are for people who have never installed Traffic Screensaver.
They can be used too for updating an older version (V3 ou V4.0/4.1). It is then better to uninstall the old one and to start from zero.
If you already have the latest version of Traffic Screensaver, you can go here for the collection update procedure.

This fully automatic procedure installs Traffic Screensaver configured with the MLGTraffic collections files.
It is now only in french, I hope to provide a french/english release in some time.
The procedure :
Download
the setup program with this link :
Traffic_inst.exe
Run it, select always the default choice, and it's done !
Warning : doing this will overwrite your former files. If you modified them, the modifications wil be lost. There is no simple way to install the new files without losing your modifications.

Installation of Traffic Screensaver
Please make a visit to the Traffic Screensaver's homepage for the installation of Traffic Screensaver.
Installation of the collections files
Warning : doing this will overwrite your former files. If you modified them, the modifications wil be lost. There is no simple way to install the new files without losing your modifications.
Download
the collections files with this link :
Collections MLGTraffic.zip
Copy the files contained in the Zip archive in the Traffic Screensaver folder (C:\Program Files\Traffic if you modified nothing during the setup program).
Run Traffic configuration window (Start Menu / Programs / Traffic Screensaver / Configuration). This makes this window appear :
If the window is in french, go to the "Langue" menu and select "anglais".
For the timetable file name, enter c:\Program Files\Traffic\sncfsqx.ttt or choose it from the Browse button.
For the stock list definition file name, enter c:\Program Files\Traffic\sncfsqx.stb or choose it from the Browse button.
You can now test the result with one of the Test buttons or use it like every Windows screensaver.

This procédure is designed for installing new MLGTraffic collections files. Traffic V4.1 and older collection files must be already installed.

the collections files with this link :
Collections MLGTraffic.zip
Copy the files included in the zip archive in the Traffic Screensaver directory (C:\Program Files\Traffic if you changed nothing during the setup).
